New Kensington knocked down in doubleheader

DUBOIS, Pa. – Penn State New Kensington was knocked down twice during Wednesday's doubleheader against host Penn State DuBois, 7-0 and 8-0. New Kensington remains with no wins.

Game 1

In the second and third innings, DuBois got itself on the board with four runs, while New Kensington struggled to hit. DuBois was up 4-0 at the end of the inning.

DuBois continued to score in the fifth and sixth, running in three more.

With one inning left to play, New Kensington only had hit one, and DuBois got the home win, 7-0.

Tallon Auth (Pittsburgh, Pa./Plum) doubled in the top of the sixth for New Kensington.

Game 2

DuBois saw an early advantage over New Kensington beginning in the bottom of the second. Its players ran in five.

Scoring halted until the sixth inning when DuBois added up three more runs. This put it over the top, 8-0, with the seventh inning left to play.

Jared Busche (Pittsburgh, Pa./Gateway) doubled in the last inning, but New Kensington was unable to run any in which gave DuBois an 8-0 victory.

Reise Matson (Kittanning, Pa./Armstrong) and Braden Tristani (Sarver, Pa./Knoch) both went 2-for-2.

New Kensington will take on Penn State Fayette at home on Friday, Apr. 16. Game times are set for 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
