MONT ALTO, Pa. - Penn State New Kensington baseball lost to Penn State Mont Alto Friday in PSUAC play. With the loss, the Nittany Lions fall to 1-7 overall and 0-4 in the PSUAC. Mont Alto improves to 5-8 and 1-0 in the PSUAC. 

New Kensington's lone run came in the second inning when freshman Alex Polka (Vandergrift, Pa.) started things off with a single and then stole second base. Polka advanced to third on a ground out before being sent home on a sacrifice hit from sophomore Darius Bennis (Leechburg, Pa.). 

Polka went 2-for 3 on the day to lead the New Kensington offense. Freshman Michael Dauer (Lower Burrell, Pa.) and sophomore Jake Stackiewicz (Murrysville, Pa.) each doubled in the game.

New Kensington will return to Mont Alto on Monday, Apr. 2 to complete the season series. The double header will begin at 2:00 p.m. on the campus of Mont Alto.
