Women’s Volleyball Goes Home with Loss

LEMONT FURNACE, Pa. – For today's women's volleyball match, Penn State New Kensington was the visiting team against the tough Penn State Fayette Nittany Lions. New Kensington faced defeat in the three sets played, which leaves them standing 0-4 in the conference.

With steady play happening during the earlier portion of the first set, New Kensington didn't falter against Fayette. After getting stuck in one rotation, the women were unable to keep up the consistent play, and Fayette pulled away 25-9. Fayette took the second set at 25-9 again, and their final win was 25-11.

Faced with big blocks, Kaylea Flick (Murrysville, Pa./ Franklin Regional) was able to go around Fayette's players and drop seven kills. Kierra Rose (Uniontown, Pa./ Uniontown) totaled up nine assists.

On Tues., September 24, New Kensington will play against Penn State Greater Allegheny. The game is to begin at 7 p.m.
