Women's Volleyball Falls to Mont Alto

MONT ALTO, Pa. - The Penn State New Kensington women's volleyball team fell to Penn State Mont Alto Wednesday night, 3-0. The loss drops the Lions' record to 5-8 and 0-6 in the Penn State University Athletic conference, while Mont Alto improves to 9-8 overall and 3-3 in the PSUAC.

Kaylea Flick (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional), the reigning PSUAC Player of the Week, led New Kensington with seven kills and eleven digs. Freshman Erin Tumas (Vandergrift, Pa./Kiski Area) and sophomore Janet Surma (Lower Burrell, Pa./Burrell) tallied ten digs a piece to help the defense. Junior Lindsey Hessom (Leechburg, Pa./Kiski Area) contributed 20 assists. 

New Kensington will look to bounce back from the lost when they face Westmoreland County Community College at home on Friday, Oct. 5. The match is slated for 7:00 p.m.
