Dubois, PA - New Kensington traveled to Penn State Dubois on Tuesday night for a Conference showdown.
New Kensington fell behind early in the first quarter, but with 7 points from Destiny Batiste (Thibadoux, La.) they closed the gap to 16-13. Dubois kept their foot on the gas, but New Ken kept it close with a score of 27-25 to end the half.
Dubois left off where they started and scored the first points of the second half. New Ken did not give up and kept chipping away. The Lion's tied the game up at 29 with a lay up by Tori Johnson (New Kensington, PA).
New Kensington kept the game close but was not enough to take the win, with the final score of 60-52.
Batiste led the Lions in points with 20 on the night. Esther Cole (Brooklyn, NY) had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Jada Norman (New Kensington, PA) led the team in rebounds with 11 and also had 9 points.
