Lady Lions fall behind early, lose 3rd straight.

York, PA- New Kensington traveled to York, PA Friday night to take on first place Penn State York in their second PSUAC contest of the season.

The Lady Lions had a huge night on the boards, outrebounding York 48-30, but struggled early on the offensive end as they fell behind 38-23 at the half. The Lady Lions continued to fight but could not chip away in the second half as York maintained the lead on their way to a 73-54 victory.

The Lady Lions were led by two double-double performances on the night by senior Shaylynne Boitnott (Meadville, PA) and freshmen forward Esther Cole (Brooklynn, NY). Boitnott scored 14 points on 7-13 shooting and added 11 rebounds, while Cole added 11 points and 11 rebounds of her own. Sophomore guard Destiny Batiste (Thibodaux, LA) led all scorers with 16 points and freshmen guard Najah Perryman (Woodbridge, VA) was close to adding a third double-double, scoring 9 points and grabbing 14 boards.

New Kensington will look for their first win of the season as they continue their road trip today with another conference showdown at Penn State Mont Alto.
