Kuczynski Hat Trick Leads Men’s Soccer against Greater Allegheny

NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. – Penn State New Kensington men's soccer advances their winning streak to six after defeating Penn State Greater Allegheny Wednesday afternoon. New Kensington swept the game, 5-0, led by junior Mitchell Kuczynski (Natrona Heights, Pa./ St. Joseph). New Kensington is now 7-4 on the season and 6-1 in PSUAC play. 

At minute 18, Kuczynski sunk New Kensington's first goal off an assist from Nolan Johngarlo (Apollo, Pa./Kiski Area). Soon after, Benjamin Midlik (Hempfield Twp., Pa./ Hempfield) scored, unassisted, pushing the Lions ahead 2-0. Kuczynski progressed the Lions' score even more at the 43rd minute with another goal, this time off a pass from freshman Thomas Cahill (Harwick, Pa./Highlands). 

During the second half, Kuczynski kept up his strong play and scored his third goal of the game, giving New Kensington a 4-0 advantage over Greater Allegheny.  Midlik tallied the assist. To end the game, a pass from Paul Kozuch (Ford City, Pa./Armstrong) found Nate Andrews (Pittsburgh, Pa./ Sierra Catholic) who pushed in one last goal at minute 84.

The men will return to play in one week as they take on Penn State Beaver at 4 p.m. The game will be held at New Kensington on Wednesday, Oct. 16.
