Broadwater Selected to USCAA All-American Second Team

NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. - Dorian Broadwater (Homestead, Pa./Steel Valley) was named to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association All-American second team, the organization announced Tuesday night. The senior guard was chosen for the Penn State University Athletic Conference all-conference second team earlier this month.

Broadwater finished the season ranked fourth nationally in USCAA in points per game with 22.3 and eighth in free throw percentage with 83 percent. These marks were good for second and fifth in the PSUAC, respectively. He netted a career-high 40 points on Feb. 2 against Penn State Greater Allegheny and scored over 30 points three more times. On Jan. 23, Broadwater scored his 1,000th career point against Penn State Beaver.

Broadwater led New Kensington in points (445) and three-point percentage (34.3). He was also tied for first in three-pointers (35), second in steals (27), and third in assists (32).

Broadwater is the first men's basketball player to be honored as an all-American since Jeremy Hurt in 2007.
