Men's Basketball Loses to PSU Mont Alto Despite 30 Points from Corbett

MONT ALTO, Pa. - Junior Keith Corbett (Silver Spring, Md./Methodist) tallied 30 points, but the Penn State New Kensington men's basketball team fell to Penn State Mont Alto Friday night. New Kensington drops to a 4-8 overall record and 2-5 in the PSUAC, while Mont Alto improves to 7-8 and 2-5 in the PSUAC. 

Mont Alto jumped out to an 8-0 edge to start the game. They would not reliquish their lead the entire 40 minutes, with the largest margin of 16 points coming at the 8:28 mark in the first half. 

New Kensington battled back in the second half, pulling to within one at the 8:13 mark after back-to-back Corbett triples. The Lions kept the game within reach the rest of the way but never took control. Mont Alto held on for the 75-71 win. 

Corbett led all players with 30 points and 12 rebounds. Antonio Hill (West Mifflin, Pa./West Mifflin) added 12 points and nine boards, while Dorian Broadwater (Homestead, Pa./Steel Valley) contributed 13 points.

New Kensington travels to Penn State York Saturday, Jan. 20 for another PSUAC match-up. Start time is set for 2:00 p.m.
