DuBOIS, Pa. - The Penn State New Kensington golf team competed in the Penn State DuBois Invitational Monday, finishing fourth out of six teams.
Sophomore Derek Petrishen (Natrona Heights, Pa./St. Joseph was the top performer for the Lions. His 79 was good for sixth place.
Junior Collin McCune (Lower Burrell, Pa./Gateway) and freshman Alex Smith (Pittsburgh, Pa./Central Catholic) both shot an 86 on the day. Freshman Mason Sullivan (Butler, Pa./Butler) showed great improvement over his first outing and came through with a 99.
The team is back in action on Tuesday, Sept. 17, for the team's home outing at the Links at Spring Church. Shotgun start is at 12:00 p.m.
