New Kensington Golf Continues Growth at PSUAC Blue Invitational

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State New Kensington golf team has shown tremendous improvement since its first tournament on September 6. On Monday, the team returned to University Park for Penn State University Athletic Conference Blue Invitational and recorded a team score of 369 -- a 124-stroke improvement from its first performance. New Kensington finished seventh out of nine PSUAC teams.

Mike Raggiunti (Verona, Pa./Plum) and John Raggiunti (Verona, Pa./Plum) led the New Kensington squad, each posting an 86 for the day. This score tied the brothers for 12th place in the field of 55. Adam Johnson (New Kensington, Pa.) and Kensey Knapp (Oakmont, Pa./Riverview) rounded out the team scoring with socres of 98 and 99, respectively. 

Monday's match marked the last for seniors Eric Green (Pittsburgh, Pa./Plum) and Nick Roth (Butler, Pa./Butler). 

New Kensington will send M. Raggiunti, J. Raggiunti, Knapp, and Johnson to the two-day PSUAC/USCAA Championships on Monday, Oct. 8.
