Baseball Completes Season Series with DuBois

DUBOIS, Pa. – Penn State New Kensington baseball moves to 0-3 in the conference after facing a loss against Penn State DuBois, 14-4.

With one out in the top of the first, Tyler Elliot (Jeannette, Pa./ Jeannette) singled, and Justin Lindeman (Murrysville, Pa./ Franklin Regional) reached first after a second out for New Kensington. Christopher Rendulic (Port Vue, Pa./ South Allegheny) singled and Elliot scored. New Kensington put themselves on the board, and at the bottom of the first, the score was 3-1, DuBois.

New Kensington brought in three runs in the top of the fourth. The Lions started putting players on base quickly during the inning. Noah Oddis (Lower Burrell, Pa./ Burrell) was walked, Sebastien Nelson (Ardmore, Okla./ Ardmore) was hit by the pitch, and Antonio Rhome (Monessen, Pa./ Monessen) grounded out to third base, advancing Oddis to third base. With a single from Vinny Ribar (Apollo, Pa./ Kiski Area), Oddis scored. Nelson scored right after, and so Ribar after Elliot doubled. New Kensington tied the score, 4-4, but DuBois ran in five in the bottom of the fourth, pushing ahead 9-4.

New Kensington didn't bring in any runs in the fifth, although Lindeman singled. DuBois continued to score two runs in the bottom of the fifth and sixth.

The score was 13-4 heading into the last inning, but with no hits on New Kensington's part, DuBois kept their lead and finished with a win.

Elliot doubled and had a RBI. Ribar and Rendulic also had one RBI.  

New Kensington will play a conference match against Penn State Mont Alto on Friday, March 29 at 2 p.m.
