Albion Trips Up New Kensington 11-0

KISSIMMEE, Fl. – In a matchup against Albion, Penn State New Kensington baseball got tripped up and lost 11-0 in seven innings.

With three outs in a row, New Kensington lost their place at bat which led to Albion's first run in the bottom of the first.

In the fourth inning, Vinny Ribar (Apollo, Pa./ Kiski Area) was the first to get on base for New Kensington with a single to second base. Reise Matson (Kittanning, Pa./ Armstrong) was hit by the pitch and advanced to first. With a single from Justin Lindeman, bases were loaded with only one out. Unfortunately, the Lions were unable to bring in any runs. Once Albion was up, they earned themselves a run and the score was 2-0 heading into the fifth inning.

Not down by much, New Kensington had a chance to catch up to Albion, but the Lions didn't have much luck in the top of the fifth. Instead, Albion had the luck and scored five, pushing the score to 7-0.

New Kensington didn't have any hits in the sixth, but Albion went for three and ended up with four runs.

Freshman Josh Stuckley (Natrona Heights, Pa./ Highlands), who pitched for five innings, struck out two.

New Kensington will return from Florida for their next doubleheader against Butler County Community College. The games are scheduled for 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.
