Three New Kensington Student-Athletes Earn PSUAC Weekly Honors

NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. - Penn State New Kensingon had three players included in the list of Penn State University Athletic Conference Players Week announced today. Freshman soccer players Nolan Johngarlo (Apollo, Pa./Kiski Area) and Christopher Zolet (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) were chosen as the Men's Soccer Player and Goalie of the Week, respectively. Sophomore Kaylea Flick was selected as the Women's Volleyball Player of the Week. 

Johngarlo, a midfielder, scored two goals and added an assist in a 2-0 week for New Kensington. He tallied the game winner in a 1-0 victory over Penn State Mont Alto to help New Kensington maintain the second best conference record to date. 

Zolet made 15 saves and had a .938 save percentage last week for the Nittany Lions. Against Penn State Wilkes-Barre, he made 8 saves and was less than a minute away from a shutout when Wilkes-Barre converted a penalty kick to make the final score 4-1. He recorded his fourth shutout of the season against Penn State Mont Alto later in the week. 

Flick, an outside hitter, led New Kensington to a 4-1 week with 79 kills, 50 digs and 17 services aces. For the week, she averaged 4.16 kills per set and 2.63 digs per set, while hitting at a .216 clip. In a 3-2 victory over Penn State Hazleton, Flick registered career highs of 19 kills and 26 digs while also serving up 5 aces.
